Claude Borges is a Worcester, Massachusetts–based singer, guitarist, songwriter, and acoustic entertainer performing familiar favorites, international music, instrumentals, and original songs in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. His performances are built around melody, atmosphere, and a genuine connection with each audience.
I come from a family of artists. My father and grandfather spent their lives painting landscapes and scenery, turning emotion, light, and imagination into something people could experience. That instinct to create stayed with me—only my canvas became music.
My sound has been shaped by music across cultures, generations, and styles. A performance can move naturally between acoustic favorites, timeless classics, international influences, and original music, always adapted to the room and the occasion.
WHAT MUSIC HAS TAUGHT ME
For more than 16 years, my work as a caregiver has placed me beside people during some of life’s most human moments. As I came to know the many people I supported—their personalities, histories, cultures, memories, and favorite songs—I progressively added their music to my repertoire.
The relationship was never one-sided. I may have brought music into their lives, but they also gave music back to me. Their stories and the songs they loved helped shape me as a caregiver, a musician, and the person I became.
I have played while people laughed, cried, danced, sang along, rediscovered memories, and connected with others around them. On a few deeply meaningful occasions, my music was also present during someone’s final moments.
Those experiences taught me that music does not always need to change what is happening in order to change how a moment is lived. Whether someone is celebrating, remembering, healing, grieving, or simply enjoying the present, I want the music to help that person feel fully alive and connected to the truest version of themselves.
At times, I feel less like the source of the music and more like a vessel through which something larger reaches us. Music passes through the room, touches each person differently, and reminds us of something we all share.
That understanding follows me into every performance—not only in caregiving settings, but wherever people gather to listen, celebrate, reflect, or connect. Whether I am performing for an intimate gathering, a private celebration, a senior community, a hospitality venue, or a larger audience, my goal remains the same: to create a musical experience that feels genuine, welcoming, and memorable.
Music has taken many forms throughout my life, but somehow, it always finds me again.
